Terms of Use

UX Signal® is operated by Brave People LLC, registered at 625 Bakers Bridge Ave, Ste 105 #146, Franklin, TN 37067 (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or running an audit you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

UX Signal loads a web page you nominate, captures it at desktop, tablet and mobile widths, and evaluates what was rendered against a set of user-experience heuristics. It produces a score, a set of findings with supporting captures, and suggested changes.

Findings are generated with the assistance of automated systems, including third-party large language models. Section 8 sets out what that means for how much weight you should place on them.

You are responsible for the security of your account and for everything done through it. Tell us promptly at hello@bravepeople.co if you believe it has been used without your authorisation. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live.

Team accounts let an owner or admin invite others to a shared workspace. The account owner is responsible for who they admit and for what those people do with the account. Removing a member ends their access to the workspace; it does not delete audits they ran under their own login.

This clause matters more than any other here. You may submit a URL only where at least one of the following is true:

• You own the site, or operate it on behalf of the owner.
• You have the owner's permission to have it audited.
• The page is publicly accessible and you are auditing it for legitimate research or comparison, in a manner permitted by that site's terms and by applicable law.

You must not use UX Signal to:

• Access anything behind a login, paywall or other access control that you are not authorised to pass.
• Place unreasonable load on a site, or run audits at a volume or frequency that functions as a denial of service.
• Circumvent robots directives, rate limits, or technical measures a site uses to control automated access.
• Collect personal data from third-party sites, or capture pages you know to contain other people's personal information.
• Resell, sublicense or systematically redistribute the service itself, as distinct from delivering reports to your own clients.

You are solely responsible for having the rights necessary to submit each URL, and you indemnify us against claims arising from your not having them.

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Fees are stated at the point of purchase. Unless stated otherwise they exclude applicable taxes, which are added where required.

• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the period already paid for.
• If you are not satisfied, write to hello@bravepeople.co within 14 days of your first payment on a plan and we will refund it in full. Renewal payments after that first charge are not refundable — cancel before a renewal to avoid it. Statutory rights to cancel, where they apply, are unaffected.
• We may change prices on notice; changes take effect at your next renewal.

Team plans can publish a report at an unlisted link. Anyone holding that link can read the report — it is unguessable but not authenticated, and it is excluded from search indexing. Treat it as you would any unlisted URL. You decide who receives it and you are responsible for what it contains once shared. Revoking a link stops it working from that point.

We own the service, its software, and the heuristics and scoring method behind it. You own the URLs and other material you submit. You keep the reports produced for you and may use them freely for your own and your clients' purposes, including redistributing them under your own branding where your plan allows it.

You grant us a licence to process what you submit for the purpose of providing the service, and to retain captures and results so the report stays viewable. We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics about usage to improve the product; we do not publish your audits or identify your sites.

A UX Signal report is an automated assessment of a page as rendered at a moment in time. It is a professional aid, not professional advice, and it is not a certification of anything.

• Findings may be incomplete, and automated systems can produce assessments that are confidently wrong. Verify anything you intend to act on.
• Accessibility findings are not a legal compliance audit and must not be relied on as evidence of conformance with the WCAG, the ADA, the European Accessibility Act, or any other standard or law. A conformance claim requires human testing, including with assistive technology.
• A score is a first-impression measure. It cannot tell you how your particular customers will behave.
• Results reflect the page at the time of capture and may be out of date the moment the page changes.

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, suspend or discontinue features, and we may suspend an account that we reasonably believe is being used in breach of section 4, or in a way that risks harm to us or to a third party.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access for material breach of these terms. On termination your right to use the service ends; sections on ownership, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive.

We may update these terms. Where a change is material we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, and the state and federal courts located in Tennessee have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
